Tatting is a very interesting lace-making technique using a simple shuttle and crochet thread. In this workshop, I'll teach you the basics and then guide you through making your own pair of delicate lace, tatted earrings!

You'll learn the basic tatting stitch, how to create picots, join rings, and tips on loading, holding, and using the shuttle. Then, you'll make a pair of earrings, choosing from a few simple designs that will allow you to practice your newly learned skills!

I'll have lots of examples of tatting - some old and some modern - that will inspire you and show you the possibilities with tatting. There's a whole world of lace making that you can discover by starting with this class.

No previous experience needed. Tatting is truly a hands-on craft, with one hand continuously holding and adjusting the tension for each ring, while the other hand is guiding the shuttle and thread. It does take some finger dexterity and coordination (a bit like knitting), but once you get the hang of it, it’s seriously addictive!

If you use reading glasses, please bring them along.
